General Care:

• Dry your hair extensions before sleeping. It is also a good idea to plait or sock curl your hair when sleeping to avoid matting. Better still, using a silk sleeping cap will protect your hair and style for much longer. A silk pillowcase is also a great option to prevent damage and friction.
• If you have wefts, please ensure you are drying them after each wash. If you don’t, the band on the weft can start to soften and break down, causing the hair to shed from the band.
• Heat should be used in moderation, at a temperature no hotter than 180°C. Always detangle your hair from the ends, then work your way up. “The Wet Brush” is highly recommended for gentle detangling.

Products:

• Always use sulphate and paraben-free products. Do not use anything you can purchase from the supermarket, as these are not suitable for hair extensions or your natural hair.
• Avoid products containing protein or those that advertise repairing the hair. These are usually protein-based and can damage your extensions.
• Always use a moisture-based shampoo and conditioner. We recommend Moroccan Oil, MUK, Pure Goddess, and Oribe Gold Lust, Redkin Allsoft range. 
• Avoid protein-based products and anything that claims to "repair" hair as this will just build up on the hair overtime. 
• Use a hair oil in the mids- end’s every night

What products CAN’T I use on my extensions? 

• Avoid products with keratin or protein, bleach, packet dye, or potent purple shampoos like Fudge or Fanola without diluting them and performing a strand test.

Maintenance:

• Move-ups should be done every 6-8 weeks to avoid matting and to keep your natural hair in healthy condition. Leaving your move-ups any longer than the recommended time can cause damage to your own natural hair as well.
• Tapes: If you have tape extensions, please wait 48 hours after installation or move-up before getting your hair wet. Getting them wet before 48 hours will cause them to fall out, and it will be at your own expense to have them reinstalled.
• Wefts: You can wash your wefts straight away after installation or move-up, but please avoid tying the wefts in a high ponytail until the track has loosened a little.

Water & Sun Protection:

• Do not get your extensions wet in chlorine or saltwater, such as beach water, pools, or spas. Chlorine or saltwater can change the colour of the extensions and dry them out, leading to matting and damage. If you do get salt or chlorine on the hair extensions, rinse them with water and wash them as soon as possible. Apply conditioner for 30 minutes to rehydrate them and restore moisture.
• Sunscreen can also change the colour of hair extensions, especially blonde! Blonde hair extensions that have touched sunscreen may turn a pink/orange colour, and once this happens, it is irreversible. Ensure your hair isn’t touching your skin if you’ve applied sunscreen.

Colouring:

• Colouring your hair extensions needs to be done by a professional hairdresser who specializes in colouring hair extensions. This is done at your own risk, and we cannot guarantee the results if the person colouring your hair is inexperienced. Box colour or supermarket colour should never be applied to your extensions.
